Area of Specialty: Trauma, LGBTQ+

Katrina (she/her) joined Sea Mar in 2019 after earning her Master's in Counseling Psychology at Bastyr University and interning at a large community health organization in the heart of Seattle. She is currently a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA). Prior to returning to school for counseling, she worked for several years as an advocate for survivors of gender-based/domestic violence.

Katrina is passionate about exploring integrative approaches to whole-person health through trauma-informed and anti-oppression lenses. She looks at how systems and environments inform an individual's experiences and understanding of the world. Katrina sees the therapy process as collaborative, and works with clients to prioritize and value their identities. She is particularly interested in working with the LGBTQ+ population, supporting clients through grief and loss, and utilizing somatic approaches to processing trauma. Katrina is also trained in the Common Elements Treatment Approach (CETA) for trauma.

When not working, Katrina can often be found exploring the Pacific Northwest wilderness. Born and raised in Alaska, she loves backpacking, hiking, and spending plenty of time outdoors.
