Sakshi Katariya joined Sea Mar Community Health Centers in June 2025 as a Child and Family Therapist. She earned a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in
Psychology from Pune, India, a Diploma in Counseling from Bangalore, India, and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The
Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Chicago.
Sakshi has experience working in hospitals, non-profit organizations, rehabilitation centers, and outpatient clinics. She has provided therapeutic
services to children, adolescents, and adults navigating a wide range of emotional, behavioral, medical challenges, substance use, and trauma relate
to abuse and suicidality. Sakshi utilizes evidence-based, integrative approach drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). trauma-informed
and multicultural approaches. Her treatment tailors to each client’s unique story, cultural and structural identity, and support system. Her
therapeutic style emphasizes a holistic perspective that considers the whole person within their life context.
Her clinical focus includes supporting clients and family through life transitions, emotional difficulties, and intergenerational trauma and
dynamics, with an emphasis on fostering resilience and promoting community well-being.
Outside of her clinical work, Sakshi finds rejuvenation near water whether at a quiet lakeside or a wavy shoreline. She enjoys spending time
outdoors, taking long walks and believes in learning something new every day, and values nature as a grounding force for reflection and restoration.
