In May 2021, Della Gim began working as Mental Health Therapist at Sea Mar CHC's Monroe Behavioral Health Clinic. Before joining Sea Mar, she worked as Substance Use Disorder counselor and Community Outreach Social Worker. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Communications from the University of Washington in Seattle and a Master's degree in Christian Counseling from Faith International University.
Della believes that nothing happens in a vacuum in life. There is a reason for every problem. There is a root cause for all issues. In counseling, Della works collaboratively with her clients to select intervention techniques and methods that best meet their unique needs and move them towards their goals. Using evidence-based practices, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational-Interviewing, and solution-focused therapy, she keeps sessions conversational, client-centered, and strength-based which facilitates a process where clients become their own agent of positive change.
When not working, Della enjoys taking aerial yoga classes, jogging, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
