Emily began working at Sea Mar Everett Behavioral Health Clinic in 2019. Before joining Sea Mar, Emily completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Utah, where she studied psychology and sociology and graduated with honors. She then earned a Master of Social Work from the University of Washington.
Emily's work with clients is grounded in her belief that an individual's internal experience and external environment they find themselves in hold equal importance. She uses a systems theory approach to understand all of the things that may be influencing someone and a strengths-based approach to help clients find their own power.
She also incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy principles into her work with clients and uses this framework to introduce the deep connection between thoughts, feelings and behaviors. In addition to these, Emily uses mindfulness techniques to explore the mind-body connection with clients to work toward both mental and physical wellness, and believes that healing and recovery are possible for everyone.
Emily loves animals and nature, spends her free time reading books and watching shows and is a self-identified nerd.
