Man Nga Poon began her work at Sea Mar in 2019 as a Child and Family Therapist. She received her Master's degree in Counselling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology in Seattle, WA and is licensed as a mental health counselor associate.
Prior to working at Sea Mar, Man Nga worked with child, adolescent and family in various settings. She was a counselor at an outpatient mental health agency. She facilitated therapeutic groups and led interpersonal training programs for youth and young adults at a youth organization. She also taught at high school, middle school and university previously.
Man Nga's therapeutic approach is trauma-informed, relational psychodynamic, narrative, and evidence-based. She believes that our relational lives holding the depth of beauty and heartaches deserve attentive listening and honoring. She connects with individuals to engage the silenced whispers of their souls while bearing witness to unspeakable harm and profound resilience. In offering the gift of presence, she seeks to create a space for the re-imagining of being and living as well as the flourishing of hopes and longings.
Outside of the therapeutic room, Man Nga enjoys hiking and biking in the Pacific Northwest
