Marisol started as a Child & Family Therapist at Sea Mar Kent Behavioral health in October 2021. Marisol is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). She is bilingual in English and Spanish and uses this to offer culturally humble care to her clients.
While earning her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Ethnic, Gender, and Labor studies at University of Washington Tacoma she developed exceptional interpersonal skills while working at the Boys and Girls Club, creating meaningful relationships with children and teens in a supportive and engaging environment.
In 2018, she earned her Master’s in Applied Child & Adolescent Psychology from the University of Washington, where focusing on evidenced- based treatments became her priority to ensure that the most effective care is available for her client’s needs. She provided mental health services in clinic, middle, and high school settings.
In 2023, she earned her Play Therapy certificate from Antioch University. She believes that play is a natural language for children to express their feelings and experiences. It is through an accepting and empathetic connection that Marisol builds trust and safety with children to gain insights of their inner world. This allows to effectively addressing unresolved issues, trauma, or emotional challenges.
Marisol loves to spend time with her family and two dogs, Coco and Luka. She spends her free time going on walks, cooking, baking, and traveling.
