Pedro Botero Velez began practicing Mental Health Counseling at Sea Mar's Oak Harbor Behavioral Health Clinic in 2022. Before practicing at Sea Mar, Pedro completed his Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the Universidad CES in his hometown Medellín, Colombia. He then earned a Master’s of Science Degree in Clinical Psychology from Universidad del Norte in Barranquilla, Colombia.
Pedro believes in the importance of interacting with humans who suffer with dignity and respect, giving the importance and seriousness it needs to be addressed. He recently initiated his Licensure Process as an LMHC with the Washington Department Of Health. He also works to provide Migrant Populations better access to Community Services and support on their individual Migration Status needs, and is active in regular Continuing Education Courses to improve his clinical expertise.
Pedro is trained in BPT, DBT, CBT+, EMDR, MBSR, Trauma Informed Care, and PCT focused on Individual Cultural Needs.
Pedro has dreamed of living in the Seattle Area since he was 16 because he resonates with the different arts, music, culture, and social justice values while finding beauty and comfort in the gloomy melancholic vibe of the city. The environment complements his passions in life: freedom and equity.
In addition to playing different musical instruments, philosophy, and independent arts culture, Pedro spends his evenings and weekends gathering with friends, going to music events, visiting museums, and trying new restaurants.
