Susana Dinges began working as a mental health therapist at Sea Mar's Lynnwood Behavioral Health Center in 2001.
She is a National Board-certified counselor and a licensed mental health counselor associate.
A native of Argentina, Susana started her career as a social worker, helping disadvantaged people in rural Argentina. She is a DSHS-certified Spanish translator and interpreter.
Susana works primarily with adults in individual therapy but enjoys the opportunity to work with children and families.
In her approach, Susana assumes that all individuals are born with intellectual ability and potential for change. However, she believes potential for change can become blocked and obscured in a sense, stolen from them by an accumulation of past hurts. As a result, these individuals may end up living the kind of life they would otherwise not choose for themselves.
Susana focuses her therapeutic approach on helping patients and their families better understand the nature of psychiatric disorders and the challenges they bring to people's lives.
She values the innate expertise patients have about themselves, and helps them explore the goals of their treatment assisting them in developing a treatment plan tailored to each individual's circumstance. In her leisure time, Susana enjoys reading, cooking, traveling and being with her husband and daughter.
