Yi-Wen began working as a Child and Family Therapist at Sea Mar in July of 2021. Yi-Wen is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA). Prior to working at Sea Mar, Yi-Wen has experience working with adults with severe mental illnesses and substance use disorder at the crisis center; also with children, adolescents and families at outpatient levels of care. She received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Criminology from University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Then she earned her Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from City University of Seattle in 2020.
Yi-Wen uses an Evidence Based approach including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family System, Solution Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing in her practice. She is certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Yi-Wen values meeting her clients where they are at in their stages of life. She is passionate about exploring clients' full potential with them and finding the best version of themselves.
In her spare time, Yi-Wen enjoys playing sports such as volleyball and badminton; and also spending time with friends.
