Dr. Karishma Dara began practicing at Sea Mar Seattle Medical in 2021. During her undergraduate years at the University of Rochester, Dr. Dara majored in anthropology and minored in biology and public health, driven by a curiosity about how diverse societies approach health and wellness. During medical school at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, she valued the continuity of care and relationships developed in primary care and began to recognize a special interest in reproductive health. Following medical school, Dr. Dara completed residency at Medstar Health - Georgetown/Washington Hospital Center Family Medicine Residency where she cultivated her investment in providing comprehensive care that respects and addresses the needs of diverse populations.
Eager to deepen her expertise, Dr. Dara moved to the west coast to complete an Advanced Obstetrics Fellowship at Swedish First Hill to be trained in higher risk obstetrics and to provide cesarean section deliveries. During her time in fellowship she had the opportunity to work with many of the passionate and caring Sea Mar physicians and ultimately decided to join them. Her decision to work here was rooted in a dedication to both individual patient needs and broader public health goals.
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Dara finds joy in spending time on the water with her paddling team, traveling, and impromptu jam sessions with her family. Most recently she has started taking Spanish lessons!
