Dr. Arora spent her formative years growing up in India followed by London, Ontario, Canada where she later obtained a combined degree in Engineering and Medicine. She got a taste of the joys family medicine had to offer and moved to the Niagara region to complete her residency in Family Medicine. She got involved in volunteering at a migrant farm worker clinic there which gave her an appreciation for various social determinants of health and how they play a role in primary care. Shortly after graduating from residency, Dr. Arora moved to more urban cities where she provided care to people from various walks of lives – immigrants, refugees, LGBTQ+ community, and people facing language, housing, and financial insecurities.
She chose family medicine because it allowed her the opportunity to look at each person as a whole rather than individual body parts. She delights in the privilege to be involved in her patients’ lives and to form bonds with families over time, from cradle to grave. She chose Sea Mar because of the organization’s mission to provide care to each and every human being regardless of the barriers they might face. She strives to strike a balance between efficiency, equality, and compassion.
Being active, cooking healthy meals, mindfulness, and spending quality time with her loved ones are regular parts of her life. Reading, hiking, backpacking, road biking, and HIIT training are a few of the ways she tries to practice what she preaches. She is also striving towards improving her Spanish and Hindi vocabulary.
