Kylie Carter, PA began her career in medicine at Sea Mar Monroe Medical clinic in March of 2023. Kylie received the National Health Service Corps scholarship for her commitment to provide primary care to underserved communities and completed her undergrad courses at Montana State University. She then completed her PA schooling at University of Washington through the MEDEX NW PA Program.
Kylie became interested in medicine at an early age. She grew up performing gymnastics, and after several injuries and visits to her primary provider, she fell in love with the idea that the people who worked in the clinic were able to go to work every day and help people. This helped her to decided that she wanted to work in medicine. Throughout high school, she volunteered in hospitals and took as many health-related classes as possible. She also worked as a CNA during her undergraduate studies, which further solidified her desire to work in healthcare.
Kylie chose community medicine because it gives her the opportunity to fill a gap in healthcare and provide access to care to more people who may not be able to find the services elsewhere. Kylie both recognizes and appreciates the challenges and rewards of being able to be able to help her patients and contribute to their overall health and wellbeing. Kylie feels that she is truly able to learn something new everyday and is very grateful for the opportunities that working in community health has provided to her.
Kylie moved to Seattle from Montana for PA school and fell in love with the area very quickly. She appreciates the break from the excessive snowfall in Montana. Outside of medicine, Kylie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling when able, listening to true crime podcasts, and spending time with her two cats, Dooneese and Stefon.
